Conus omaria : ウィキペディア英語版 | Conus omaria
''Conus omaria'', common name the Omaria cone, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.〔 Like all species within the genus ''Conus'', these snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully or not at all. The variety ''Conus omaria'' var. ''marmoricolor'' Melvill, 1900 is a synonym of ''Conus pennaceus'' Born, 1778. ==Description== The shell varies in length between 33 mm and 86 mm. The color of the shell varies from orange-brown to chocolate-color, covered by minute white spots, and overlaid by larger white triangular spots, sometimes forming bands at the shoulder, middle and base. 〔 George Washington Tryon, Manual of Conchology vol. VI, p. 92-93; 1879 〕
